We’re nearly halfway through the summer, and things are heating up in the EDM industry accordingly! To keep you up to date with all of your favorite EDM artists, Banging Events has compiled a list of this week’s top stories:

5. EDC Orlando Lineup Released

The EDC Orlando Lineup, announced this past Tuesday, features artists like Tiesto, Bassnectar, Martin Garrix, Kaskade, Dillon Francis, Don Diablo, Alesso, Illenium, Alison Wonderland, Jamie Jones, and more. For those NITK (not in the know), the Electric Daisy Carnival first began at Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles in 1997; EDC launched their first Orlando show in 2011. Is Orlando the Las Vegas?! No. But we’re still pretty hype.

4. ‘Wut Wut’ is Dillon Francis Up To?

This week, Dillon Francis announced his new album “Wut Wut” (and we’re still trying to determine if this is a South Park reference). For the past year or so, Francis has been teasing the latin-style album, that is now complete. He’s also announced the names of the 11 tracks featured on the album. “Wut Wut” will be released in full on Sept. 28th.

3. Steve Aoki Launches a Pizza Delivery Company in Los Angeles

That’s right, the EDM legend DJ Steve Aoki, lauched a “delivery-only” pizza restaurant appropriately titled “Pizzaoki.” The pies feature an herb-filled dough and sauce designed by Aoki’s mother. Steve Aoki’s father was actually the founder of Benihana in 1963, so he was basically born into the food service industry.

2. Afrojack Under Investigation For Tax Fraud

The Dutch tax specialist for both Afrojack and Tiësto is being investigated by the Dutch Fiscal Information and Investigation Service for embezzling millions from his entire customer base. Afrojack previously stated he was shocked by the arrest of his tax advisor and he is unaware of any illegal tax affairs.

1. You’ll Never Believe Which EDM Song is the #2 Song of the Century

That’s right. On June 28th, Rolling Stone declared Diplo’s Hit Track with M.I.A. “Paper Planes” as the No. 2 Song of the Century. The triple-platinum song “Paper Planes,” released in 2007, was preceded only by “Crazy In Love” – Beyonce ft. Jay Z, and we’re not mad. Except at Jay Z for cheating on the queen, but I digress.
